Parental Involvement - A.R.T.S. Circle

In addition to volunteers from the community, we encourage involvement from the parents or families of participating students. Support from home is the key to the success of our students, and parents are critical in ensuring that their children get the best education possible. By assisting with administrative and maintenance tasks, they help make it possible for the Center to continue to offer low-cost, quality arts education to the community.

There are a variety of ways members can participate at the Center, including monitoring students, bringing snacks, cleaning, assisting with fundraising, helping with arts and crafts projects, making phone calls and much more. There is also the opportunity to teach, attend performances and participate in special A.R.T.S. Circle events.

Everyone is welcome to participate in A.R.T.S. Circle, which stands for "assist and reflect through service." Sitar Arts Center asks that at least one adult per family sign up for a group, all of which are organized around days of the week.

Each group has a leader whose responsibility it is to contact the group members to notify them of upcoming events and opportunities to participate. The group members can sign up with their group leader or come to the Center and sign up at the A.R.T.S. Circle board. When the group member comes to participate in the event they chose, they need to sign in to the appropriate group book, which is located in the cubby area beside the front desk. It is the responsibility of each group member to remember to sign in to their group book in order to get credit for participating in the event.
